Acton Free Wednesday April 23 JENNIFER BARR Bob Stewart may be BO ears old but he s still a flirt and a charming flirt to boot Originally an Acton lad employed by the Acton Free Press in his youth he back home in after gallivanting all over with the Bell Telephone Company He been retired years and has been living on Rosemary Road for seven years gardening raising geraniums and still getting into mischief I visited Bob Stewart to do a story on his base full of geraniums and ended getting an interesting story of a fascinating lively man Born in the lovely red brick house on Highway south of Bob spent his youth until World War I around town He tells stories of Acton early days when the century was new going to the Stone School with kids who arc now Acton seniors learning from Miss Minnie Bennett Miss Bennett was always proud of her zero failure rate getting pupils through that last year of public school Bob is very proud that he was almost her only failure he left school before he grandchildren Since returning to the home of his youth Bob has taken a real interest in gardening He main tains he gardened in Peterborough but his wife Ruth says all he ever did was pull up the per
