last week has come up with a novel first project which could make the community a little cheerier this Christ mas season It a hoped residents will give their front doors special decorating attention this Christmas The name of the new organization dedicated to the beaut flea tton of Acton is as simple as ABC the Acton Beau cation Committee The small group eight people attended last Wed night a found Li meeting is the result of a trio of workshops dealing with the landscape arch ltccture and appearance assets and liabilities of Acton The three workshops sponsored by the University of Guelph Rural Development Outreach Project along with a study are the basis of a mas thesis by student Janice About resident attended the workshops and a number of them Indicated they want to be involved in the ABC but weren able to attend the founding meeting at the home of the group chairman Bill Coats Pat Wood will be busy before the ABC a next meeting recruiting new members while Yvonne Rosen quia t one term Acton regional councillor Ed Wood was ousted by Dave Whiting Whiting picked up votes while Wood drew and took of 10 Acton pools In the race to fill the shoes of retired Hlllsseparato school trustee Hartley new comer Irene McCauley of Georgetown defeated Acton to Whelan took the Acton polls split but was thumped in Georgetown Whiting will be one of only two new faces on the next Hills
