six Spencer explained the local board does not of the program In kindergarten because officials feel the child has enough new exp eriences to cope with without having to hear a foreign language every program grades one to five subjects taught in English are art English language and math In French students learn French environmental studies music and physical and health education In the senior harder lo catch up after missing some school Spencer stressed a child in his first year of French Immersion not be put into any extra for the first lime either He explained the student will be using all his or her concentration and energies in learning the French and will have no energy to be taking figure skating or piano lessons Parents at Monday s meeting were concerned with the high pupil
