B12 The Acton Free Press Wednesday April DancirY to the music and raising Over enthusiastic Acton high school students raised 653 twice as much as last year In the Bump for Life all day Saturday The hour dancea thon was sponsored by the Georgetown Kinsmen to raise money lor Cystic Fibrosis Fantastic declared the organizers after the day was over The response from dancers and sponsors was far better than last year when Acton placed first in the whole district They won know for two more which of schools came out on top but they think Acton has a good chance However the Kinsmen already figure their project raised about and a half thousand dollars this year There were schools which had dancea thons in the same project Last year In Acton young people raised to win the competition and a trophy Now the dancers are out contacting their sponsors and adding up the pledge money Going by pledges the Kinsmen announced the winners at the end of the Dance Saturday Tied for first were two girls who raised an amazing each Chris Vetricek and Janice each had pledges totalling a super per hour They received donalds gift certificates and cassette tapes They are also eligible to win the overall prize among ail the schools Honorable mention for girls went to Sherry with per hour riding on her dancing feet Top ranking boy was Norman Bourassa with pledges of for each hour He was presented with an Others with the moat pledges were Patsy Kelly lis Susie Bahr with Sellna Schmidt with 111 and Anita with All of them finished the full hours In fact almost everybody did A couple of but a few parents sneaked In to watch and listen Kinsmen and some of their wives stayed at the school all day with the lively partic ipants They served two meals Including delicious submarine sandwiches hot dogs hot apple pies chocolate bars milk and pop Special Arizes were donated for spot dances The Kinsmen had donations from Burns Transport Georgetown Submarine Shop A and Radio Shack Ego Fashions KICKING UP THEIR heels at the Kinsmen Club Bump for Life are Acton high school students Students gathered pledges for each hour danced House Buys restaurant Up s chocolates Norm of
