Friday Including pupils from Grade Public School who had produced a com prehensive range of hooking from the traditional rugs to cushions footstools and pictorials Mrs Sonja Bell of Georgetown displayed and Mr Mrs Beseem also of Georgetown showed a large collection of tumbled and polished gem stones many or which had been hand set into jewellery Mrs Booth Scarborough brought a display of Decoupage She cuts out pictures from magazines and greetings cards glueing them onto wood surfaces she alternately var nishes and sands them until the whole surface Is smooth and a decorative effect he Mrs C with her son Michael and Mr Ian helping As well as cutting and polishing rocks they had display of fossils and rock structures Mrs Pat Dams and her daughter Jane from Terra Cotta were engaged in crewel embroidery ana Batik against a very colourful bock J their finished work Mrs Ertcl showed rug braiding and Mrs little Snelgrove and Mrs I Ford of Hamilton had a display of different types of leather craft J Georgetown was at work on model making and showed many kits which will be available in the new Hobby store opening soon Mr Mrs G Grohe of Norvol had a large collection of Ceramics and they were helped by Mrs M Maclcod Mrs Win lJikin of Burlington showed many dyed swatches and patterns for rug hooking some of which were being used on torlals demonstrated by Lois Guenther and Mrs Jean Wei bourne also from Burlington of Mrs Jan member while Mrs M Murphy from Klein burg made plaques and paper weights using arrangements of dried flowers Mrs Vera Robinson of Rex dale demonstrated the art of making dolls using dried apples for faces and showed the apples In various stages of preparation The Palette and Pencil club of Georgetown invited visitors to an Art Show which included oil paintings sketches and several pieces of collage Mrs Kay- Niagara Falls showed Danish Woo painting Tor which is been Canadlai Standing Ovation for Pupils Friday Concert Holy Cross School presented a concert in the church auditorium Friday night for parents and other interested people The opening number was Everything is Beautiful performed by a choral group from the bilingual grades of Mrs Benolt Mrs Landry Then followed a display of creative gymnastics by Tnra Kaulback The grade five Junior Choir or over sang four numbers the last of which a Fantasy of Nursery Rhymes was Illustrated by colour slides filmed from original pictures drawn and painted by children in each or the grades in the school Angela Martlneau next danced to the music of It was a Very Good Year and this wos followed by three numbers played on the accordion by and Catharine Olivier The next numbers were a trio of creative dances directed and choreographed by Miss Allard performed by grade six students Then followed a French folk dance performed by grade five girls and accompanied by the senior choir The Inst three numbers were performed by the senior choir of over voices They were directed by their music teacher Mrs Geraldme Barnes and by Mrs Mary Berry music con sultant Tor the Ha I ten County Separate Schools They sang Tom Dooley Ontario illustrated by colour slides projected onto two screens and finally Sound of Silence The parents who were present gave the performers a standing ovation Mrs Barnes and Mrs Berry were presented with gifts at the end of the performance Elephants are used in place of demonstrated rug hooking In which they have finished rugs The Catholic Womens League served light refreshments throughout the day and maintained a steady trade All these artists and craftsman gave
