Norval News The 4H Brampton West Garden Club called The Bloomers held their last meeting at the home of Jean and Bonnie Crawford on Saturday morning July 31st Each girl brought a vegetable from her garden and a discussion was held on the quality of the vegetables to on Achieve ment Day after which their leader Mrs James demonstrated the proper way to prepare a salad Plans were made for Achievement Day and Miss Alexandra Reed will be the commentator on the of vegetable salads Each girl Is to make a salad for the exlblt as well as bring five vegetables for the group display and a bouquet of flowers At the close of the meeting the girls enjoyed a dinner which they had prepared from their vegetables Mrs Laidlaw Is assisted with the 4H group by Mrs Jack Crawford Mr ft Mrs Norman Guthrie Terry Michael and Lisa enjoyed their two weeks holiday touring Quebec Nova Scotia New Brunswick Prince Edward Island Cape Breton Island and then across to the S A through Main Vermont and New York states and then home Mr ft Mrs Norman Shea Phillip and Fred also enjoyed an eastern tour for two weeks travelling through Nova Scotia New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island Rev Mrs Walter Ridley Linda and Donna enjoyed their months holiday visiting relatives in the eastern provinces of Nova Scotia New Brunswick and P E I They especially en Joyed the area of Quebec Mrs Lois Marie and Randy enjoyed two weeks camping in various camping parks while touring north to Sault Ste Marie where they camped at Blueberry Hill camp site While there they enjoyed a boat tour They camped near Parry Sound on the way up and near Sturgeon Falls on the way home Mrs and David spent a week vacationing at Port Dover and another week visiting relatives in Hamilton They arrived home Sunday afternoon Just after the excitement of the Credit River Boat building fire and so missed the anxious time when the fire had threatened neighbouring buildings which included their home At the end of the school year Mrs Marion Reed was presented with a hand made brass fruit bowl by the staff of Acton ft District High School where she has taught French for a number of years Mra Reed was honoured with he presentation on her retirement from teaching The sponsored Vacation School started on Wednesday August under the direction of Rev Walter Ridley Kindergarten children meet at the Presbyterian Church
