Plan Cabin Raising Bee for September With proceeds from the 1971 as well the 1970 Museum Festival held by the Friends of the Museum plus a generous amount of volunteer labor the log cabin at County Museum might 1 very well be erected this year festival chairman Ron Harris Indicated Mr Harris said there had been terrific cooperation between the Friends of the Museum the Museum Board and the Region Conservation Authority making the festival a huge success this year Old Fashioned Bee In an interview Mr Harris said the Friends of the Museum had set aside Sept 19 for on old fashioned bee to raise the cabin A porch will be added to the cabin and will be in keeping with he old fashioned theme As chairman of the committee Harris extends a warm welcome to all who feel they would like to take a hand In the raising of the cabin Duplicate Railings of an old fashioned nature have been donated The cabin will be a duplicate or as close to one as possible of the original Alexander cabins Members from the Surchers Car Club from Hornby have volunteered their time and physical support for the Sept 19 cabin raising bee Fortunate Chairman Harris noted the group was fortunate in having Dr H J Newman museum director available because of his experience In knowledge of cabin building and similar projects council donated a sum of money and it is the fond hope of the committee that money added
