Tour Tropical Fish Plant hi a recent Dean lie Mount and Mrs Carolyn Stewart of Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority invited members and their husbands to accompany them on a tour of a wholesale tropical fish business for the presentation of their cultural program entitled Nature They were told that the fish flown In from all over the world Sacked in water filled polythene which arc placed in boxes and then into cardboard boxes They have to be transported from the airport and transferred Into prepared tanks All fish have to be treated with minerals to ensure that they are all healthy It takes the fish some days to recuperate from their Journey some never do because of their fragility The tour began in the tropical fish room ana among the kinds of fish seen were Loach Talking Cats Black Mollies Sword Tails Kissing Fish and numerous others Oscars originally from India are interesting They have a red mark which looks like an eye near the tall and at first Stance one thinks one is seeing a fish Marble catfish with their black and orange markings arc very pretty little scavengers whilst the algae eating fish are grey black with odd marks on them The most Interesting one was the Clown Knife from Thailand His colouring is blue grey with eight yellow circles or each side and he looked like a cross between a whale and a wearing a faint smile on face Ills diet consists of ten goldfish per day and because he is nocturnal he really was not very cooperative with his movements luring the visit TUBS The lour moved on to the plant room where there are large water filled concrete ubs and many varieties of plants could be The most Interesting room of all was the one where salt water fishes were kept There in the tanks were some of the most beautiful fish ever seen just a myriad colours swimming back and forth amongst and shells In one of the aquariums there were clown trigger fish brilliantly coloured in shades of blue and yellow and next to him a bandit black trigger fish These fish have a fin on top of their backs and a fin under the stomach These fins provide from their enemies The top fin locks on to coral when in danger and the lower fin acts like a trigger to r lease the hold Hence the name trigger fish These fish come from the islands of the Pacific LION FISH Further along there purple fish that resembled coral called anglers spotted and Pearly Jaws However those that stole the show were the lion fhm Their colourings were a mixture of beige and orange their fins were feathery and very unusual but they are poisonous In the remaining tanks there were a variety of Sea Anemones and tube worms The informative tour was enjoyed by all and those who did not have aquariums were very tempted to moke further enquiries In conclusion the party drove to Brampton for delicious Chinese food Zeta Alpha Chapter Four Years Old Alpha Chapter Beta Sigma Phi welcomed two new members Mrs Dorothy and Mrs Ruth Woodward at the Itllual Jewells Ceremony at the Brampton Golf Club on April Following the ceremony members of he five Beta Sigma Phi Chapters enjoyed a roast beef dinner proceeding a dance attended by the husbands New standing committees were set up for the 1972 year during a business meeting held on May at the home of Mrs Joan McDonald Committees were asked to have an outline of their plans for next year ready for the next meeting Following business Mrs CynthTa Partridge presented her program People The last regular meeting of the Sear on May 16 will be proceeded a pot luck supper celebrating the chapters fourth anniversary to be held at the home of Mrs Ruth Woodward Town Bridgors Win Tournamon Four members of Georgetown duplicate bridge club teamed to win first place in a Brampton tournament last week Bart Fisher of Urn chouse Dick and Ron Reynolds Georgetown and Mrs Jack Campbell Brampton outplayed the field to win first place in a yearly team competition TlltTIMF On a garage We stand in front of our brake jobs GEORGETOWN Glass Mirror 8778020 STORE HOURS Open Daily 8 am to pm Sat am to pm NEW STORE HOURS OPEN 8 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday NOW IN EFFECT SATURDAY 8 am to pm
