Cheltenham the daughter of William Henry and Elizabeth Lyons she attended school there and spent her early childhood on her parents farm and in Brampton where she studied painting and music On June 1913 she married Harry Devereaux who predeceased her in 1959 After her marriage she and her husband settled on a farm on the Line of Esquesing Township just south of In 1953 they retired and took up residence at Parkview Boulevard Georgetown where she lived until 1971 Mrs was a descendant through her mother of the late Mr and Mrs James Lyons one of the pioneer families who came to Canada from Ireland in and settled on Crown Land Line West Peel County Mrs did oil paintings In her early years which her family now have as cherished possessions She was an ardent gardener and par tlcularly flowers Both she and her late husband were among the original supporters for the building of the Georgetown and District Memorial Hospital They were a part of the rural community Known the Scotch Block an area south west of Georgetown and Mrs was a charter member of the Scotch Block Circle of the Women Assoc at Ion of Knox Presbyterian Church Mrs Devereaux leaves two sisters Mrs William Henry Ethel and Mrs William Hutchinson both of Cheltenham She is also survived by three children William A of Halifax Harry L of and Mrs A Kennedy Helen I of Montreal who at present Is on sabbatical leave
