managers More work for our executive We like to point out that our executive Is more than willing to take that extra load but what about the extra coaching and people to run the teams In recent years it was suggested at our general meetings to register coahces and managers first followed by a restricted player registration pending on the number of coaches and managers available This has been voted down year after year and rightly so every boy or girl should have a chance to play soccer but what about the people that feel so strongly about open registration Your No to our request to coach or menage Is con tradicting your vote at our general meeting This week we received word from two well known coaches Gary Splller and Gary Wallace that they were unable to serve our association this year as a coach due to work We are thankful for a good fob done but who Is willing to fake their place Maybe we should have second thoughts on open registration next fall But let us first try to make It click There are several people that nave taken charge of a team in order to get a team off the ground Their only problem Is that they are willing but know little about the game I praise these people and they are well recognized by our executive But we are still In need of eight from squirt and up three of them for our bantams I hope you will take note of this because beside all our home work to run this association the members of our executive are all actively in vOlved In coaching Some nave a boys team and a girls team not because they do not know what to do with their time but It is necessary and this should not be so SOCCER NOTES Toronto Metros of the North American Soccer League have announced that the GMSA will be invited to have one of their teams compete in one of the game School Quiz Show On Again By Larry It was announced last Thursday that High Quiz the academic quiz show run by two students at Georgetown High school and shown on Georgetown Cable TV would be discontinued This action was taken because unfortunately one of the two student organ Ire found It Impossible to continue contributing his time and ef forts towards tbe running of tbe show Thursdays announcement that High Quiz has been can celled brought protest from concerned students and teachers who said that High Quiz waa a program worth continuing as It provided the students with an opportunity to their intellect and it allowed the parents of Georgetown and the surrounding area to see exactly what sort of things their children are learning at high school A few students perhaps more concerned than the rest offered services in reviving the High Quiz As a result Georgetown High School and Cable Five are pleased to announce that High Quiz will continue as originally planned beginning next week The new group of producers of High Quiz headed by Jim Lynch will receive assistance from the former organizer and the Cable Five staff These people plan to run High Quiz just as before following original schedule except that it will be displaced for one week Tbe organizers at High Quiz would welcome any comments on High Quiz as a program that benefits the students of and the
