Off Under Sunshine By Haddy Sin edema It pleasant surprise our first day of soccer a but prise After all the rain we me man was good to hold the rain off and give us sunshine long enough to ploy our first scheduled games and we must say the boys and girls provided us with a day of fine entertainment As you know we Invited our Mayor Mr Tom Hill to our park for the opening kick off on both playing fields We know that Mr Hill could kick the political ball but what about a soccer ball The only thing Mr Hill had in his favor was that our ball is round and will roll with the slightest kick Well our Mayor surprised us The kick made from centre field reached the goal and the keeper was to make sure he Id not score It was a honor to have Mr Hill with us to do so well In his kicking and witness his first soccer game ever as far as the soccer part is con it was exciting In the Squirt Division we saw the only one aide score 6 But the only comment I heard was by the losing side It is better to lose our first game with 0 than to wine Mr Martin the coach of the losers must find It en u raffing to hear such a remark In three occasions the games ended up In a tie The third one was a 0 victory for Mr Hack team Charlie the new coach of the Junior Girl was looking for aspirins during the game but not even a bottle full of those pills would have cured his stomach disorder not until the game was over with a l l tie as a result Charlie became again John Bew on the other side did not make it easier for Charlie with his confidence and calmness What a relief when the game was over for coach and parents alike One good thing about a first soccer game parents and coaches ha whole park to do their pacing It didn take long for the parents to get Involved either holding their breath yelling and jumping up and down what a day His great to see all these kids turning to the parks instead of being left on the street for the summer to come It Is nice to bo involved and I hope that the parents keep showing their interests It can do only good for minor soccer and your own children Plagiarism Is the taking and use of another person thoughts writings or in ventions as one own There were over
