Searjentson and Mary McEwen DID YOU KNOW Nova Scotia Introduced daylight saving into the new world The new measure was brought forward in the United States in 1918 Rockets 2 Pirates 1 Centurions Wolves 3 Beavers Jaguars 0 Chargers Kings Beavers 2 Rockets 0 4 Jaguars Last weeks play featured minor games 2 Interlocking games and 1 major game As a result we have a new leader in r the major league Beavers and a very tight race for positions behind them In the minor loop the Kings moved further Into the lead as the other teams traded a few positions It was good to see the Jaguars come up with a victory and they are hoping they can repeat this two point per formance a few more times in the near future In the weeks first game the short handed Pirates played well but the Rockets came up with the two points to overtake the Pirates and slip Into second spot in the standings It was a very close game with the Rockets edging their op ponents on goals by John Warnock and Ricky Fisher Bill Dunn scored for the Pirates In an all major encounter the same evening the league leading Wolves visited and were upset by the Centurions Carl Bell sparked the Centurions attack as he picked up two goals as Doug and Tom had singles Alan Bower Dave Hill and Randy Doucette scored the goals for the Wolves In the third game of the week the Beavers were too much for their minor division opponents as they were In command for the entire game blasting shot after shot at the Jaguars goalie Simon Willis who played a terrific game Mike Cooper had a hattrick for the Beavers who moved Into a tie for first place with this victory Lee Ferguson Jamie Hausen and Scott WaktKer each had goals to round off the Beavers scoring The fourth game of the week saw another scoring victory and the Kings consolidated their minor division lead with a 102 win over the Chargers A Woodhams had a hattrick for the Kings with the other goals going to C Clancy 2 G D and Tiesma Doug Smith had both goals for the Chargers The next game saw the Beavers pick up a win over the Rockets ana take the lead in the major league standings However the Beavers must have been surprised by the strong showing made by their minor division opponents who did well In limiting the Beavers to a pair of goals one each to Lee Ferguson and Mike Cooper The final Peewee game saw a lot of goals as well as the Jaguars out scored the Pirates This was a happy occasion for the Jaguars as it marked their first points of the season BANTAMS Trojans Nationals 1 Colts Arsenals As usual there were two games in this weeks Bantams schedule and as usual Arsenal came up with another two points to consolidate their lead In the league standings While their competitors battled for second place In the first game the Trojans put on a good performance to beat the Nationals 31 on goals by John and Jim Hammer as Glen picked up a goal for the Nats With the two points picked up for this victory the Trojans Jumped from last to second In he four team Bantam loop In the second game the strong Arsenal team were just too strong for the Colts over powering them One of the A renal teams strong points is their well balanced attack and this was evident as their goab were shared by five players Scott Dwyer Mark Jones Jeff Coullghan Dwayne Bacon and Stephen CONGRATULATIONS MR Bill WRIGHT ON WINNING OUR FATHERS DAY PRIZE
