THE HERALD April 11 Cricket gains acceptance in Hamilton loop Georgetown Cricket Club has reached a major mile stone in the very second year of Its formation The club will be participating in the Horn and District Cricket league and have a full pro gram with fixtures for forthcoming Cricket season 12 1979 Not withstanding the lack of proper playing fields he club had an excellent record last year On the basis of this record application for the league cricket was The club was founded last year mainly due to the initiative and enthusiasm of wo indivduals Ashok mar and Tom who rightly the need for such a club in Georgetown Cricket being an expensive game requires considerable financial sup port and excellent playing fields neither of which were available At the same time the gome has to be financially affordable to the majority of members As such extensive planning and organizing was necessary make the club financially secure and self supporting Two dinnerdan were organized during the first ID months of formation of the club These events were highly successful both finan cially and social functions In addition the clubs forts in securing a Wlntario grant were rewarded and a sum of
