general committee learned Monday night It appears that the ministry feels the document as prescn ted represents a simple conso lidation of the official plans of Georgetown and Acton clerk administrator Ken Richardson said rather than long range planning for Hills over the next to years While both he and town planning director Mario Vcndilti assured councillors that years of work which own staff have put into the document has not been wasted Mr Richardson said the mini wants completed plan lo include among other things the findings of Acton and Georgetown urban area studies now underway In addition Mr in a report the minister noted that the draft plan does not embrace Ihe agricultural code of practice foodland guide in social policies heritage policies and stilt uncompleted plans for the future of the downtown cores of Aclon and Georgetown Calling on the committee to taskforce or guiding body to make changes in the draft plan Mr Richardson urged disgruntled councillors to look ahead for Ihe next 20 years and look at what there for the past ten But some councillors are angered that local planning policies seem to be dictated by the provincial government and Ihe
