Australian student long way from home By MAGGIE HANNAH Herald Special Canadas reputation as a cold country has apparently reached Australia Jennifer Nunan a Rolary International exchange student who arrived here Friday to begin a yearlong stay with Acton Rotary Club members said she was surprised it wasnt colder when she arrived The warm weather how ever hasnt prevented her from catching a cold It was super hot when she left Alexandra Victoria on Australias southeast coast The 16yearold has enroll ed in a mixed level of classes at Acton high school At home she would be taking fifth year subjects Here she will take history and chemistry firstyear French because she has never studied It before and second year physical educa tion because It too has some activities she has never tried before Miss said she had a choice of Sweden Canada America Brazil Mexico Japan and some Asian coun tries While she wouldnt have minded tackling Spanish to go to Mexico hot countries dont appeal to her much Nor was she very enthused about oriental countries Canada and Sweden were really the only places thai did interest her and she was pleased to find out she could visit here She hasnt been Canada before but she has an aunt Id British Columbia whom the will visit on her way to San FransLscoandhome A group of students arrived In San and five of the came on to Toronto By coincidence they were
