overhaul of the existing church The chancel was widened and enlarged a new wing containing a parish room was added the inner porch was removed with a new outer porch added on the comer the interior was lined with pine and a new brass tectum was installed The original wide board used to build the church were left beneath ihe present walla and floor A structural touch was made to he church In 1912 with the addition of a parish hall The congregation felt was time they had a place where they could bold their gather ings and Sunday School class- LOOK St began to take on its present appearance in 1934 alter a bequest of to church allowed more renova lions to both the church and the rectory The old outer frame of church was covered with the stucco that the church its unique appearance today During ihe iMQa stained glass windows were installed Improvements were made on the heating system In both tbe church and hall and a new pipe organ was installed With the of Reve rend in the early 1950s the church got its most recent addition the parish ball adjoining it plans were drawn up for the new parish hall and construction continued on it until 1353 The present rectory on Jeffrey Avenue was purchased in 1957 after the old one on Willow Street could no longer survive any more repairs had been renovated and redesigned In some form or another four separate times In years The parish ball in use by 1953 but wain t formally dedicated until 1959 It was dedicated to memory of Reverent who died In before seeing Its comple tion The congregation wanted to honor him as one who and succeeded in getting a new hall for St Albans Today St Albans serves MS families In tbe Acton area Reverend Arthur Tribe It the rector for St Alban Mr Tribe has been serving the Acton pariah for two years and previously stationed at near take Erie Reverend Tribe was ordained in and worked for six and a half years a probation officer In Toronto It seems unlikely that St Albans will undergo much more change In tbe near future save for odd repairs At moment It has become small for tbe number of lies it serves and tne day may come when it will have to be replaced by a modem larger church Church enjoys Little Miss Halton Hills needs volunteer babysitters The fate of a baby show and contest for little girls at Georgetown Fair Is still undecided say fair Board officials Rita and Jim Barrett who originated and produced both a Baby Contest and Little Miss Hills pageant at the I960 Fair have moved outwestand since that time no one has been found to carry on organization of the events In April the Fair Board said hat if the Little Miss pageant was to continue this year It would take place the Saturday morning of the fair as usual but all contestants would bo asked to wear pioneer costumes
