It seemed it took the Saturday nigh I lime to warm up to this play Many of he funny lines in the act received scant laughter The second act in which Eva drags her feet through a variety of attempts Is rather slow Her depressed per sets a very heavy mood and the play only picks up once he other characters wander into the kitchen and start do ing their thing around HUGE DOG While Eva and Geotr huge dog George growls possessively from the hallway blocking access out of the kitchen Ronald manages to get himself electrocuted changing a His drunken wife turned on the light while he was making a semblance of working on the wires Marion leads tho aud along to great peals of laughter She breaks the boredom of the second act One downfall of the play is a ami 13 r one to the Theatre which has a fondness for English plays Because the play is mean the actors should feign English accents A fake accent that is sounds a lot worse than a natural accent Concentrating on skipp ing their vowels Eva Jane and Sidney some times come across forced in their speeches especially sounds missing the rhy of the Englishman The other three char actors Marion Ronald and Geoffrey are able to off their accents but by an unfair age They re all three English to start with instead of concentrating on sounding English they were concentrating on their script Perhaps that a problem the Little Theatre can consider themselves the company of the over enthusiastic Hopcrafls The audience sees Sid nc s shadow cm the wall while berating Jane for dropping a dish of lr fie at a parly The effect is excellent and very
