holds an exhibition This year Tor the first time selected items will be for sale Now Is your chance only their fine work but to purchase an example of It This will all be taking place September IS to at the Gallery of Cultural Rug hooking is an old craft using cut strips of woven material pulled through an open weave foundation such as burlap It is lime consuming but satisfying work Many hookers are loath to part with their work after putting so much or themselves into it That Is why it Is exciting that this opportunity to buy Is being presented Items on display will include hand hooked wall pictures pillows and examples of flat and sculptured There will be work done to commercial patterns as well as those using origin designs Some wool will be commercially dyed Some will personally by the hooker using cither chemical dyes or natural dyes obtained from anion skins and marigolds or natural sources The grand opening for this exhibition and may be obtained from any member of the guild or at the door Refreshments will be served and any will be donated to the Heart Fund The Exhibition and Sale will be officially opened by the President or the Ontario Hooking Craft Guild Ruth the third anniversary since the cultural centre was opened This annual week of celebration plans to attract crowds for a variety of entertainment rang in interest from tots to seniors The popular nursery and kindergarten school show kicks off the events with performances Oct 9 and lOat and 1 30 pm The Inner Stage Theatre presents three short stories Flip The Carrot Seed and Caterpillar Story Plans arc underway for a country western concert Oct while the ever popular amateur night be returning for Oct Entry forms may be picked up at the Recreation offices The next night is devoted to the public and high schools in the community It s a free evening of entertain where family and friends can witch future acting singing and ing stars in action By popular demand Second City Touring Company Georgetown Little Theatre 241h season and there a delightful selection of plays planned Blithe spirit by Noel Coward is already in production having been cost In late August For those of you not familiar with the play it is according to the script an improbable farce full of fantastic special effects Ron Hunt Is directing the play and was delighted by he number or people auditioning However his Job as director becomes diffi cult when selecting a cast there arc Just not enough parte to go around He had at least three ladies read for each of the five female roles and In his words would
