friends I recently viewed my all time favorite movie Casablanca It Is strange to write a review of a film But most people have beard of It It has never faded from the popular consciousness The movie is set In Casablanca In December IH1 American and Free alive What endures Is the main character Rick and his personal struggles Rick Humphrey Bogart and Ilsa Bergman had fallen In love in McNally team edged out One of the best games of the season was played In Milton Monday night and the seesaw scoring proved that both teams were up for the gome Competition is always keen when the black and red meets the green of Milton and this night was no exception Both goalies Milton and Marc St Pierre defending Georgetown kept the score until mid point In the second period stopping shot after shot being flredateltherendofthelce Milton put the first marker on the board and then Curry from Stephen Leon tied up the score just Into the third period Milton moved ahead again but just two minutes later Chris Barrow let go with a blasting shot from the blue line that Milton goalie didn t have a chance on Unfortunately at the front of Georgetown s crease the puck look a funny hop after St Pierre had made the Initial save and bounced Into the net for Milton to register the win 32 Excellent hockey played by both Pans when she had thought her husband dead The husband escapes from a prison camp and returns to her on the very day on which Rick and nothing or this Alt he gets is a cryptic good bye note which he reads in the rain at the train station Rick and meet again when she unexpectedly walks into his cafe in Casablanca with her husband Amidst the swirl or other elements the question is whether she will leave town with her husband or stay with Rick She tells him that she Is too confused and that he wilt have to do the thinking for all of them One does not know until the end the famous scene at the foggy airport what Rick will decide In what arc probably the finest lines Bogart ever delivered Rick tells Ilsa that she belongs with her husband He tells her that she would regret leaving her husband II not right away then soon and for the rest of your life Different endings were filmed so that even the actors did not know how the movie would end until It was released It is the ending that makes the movie Despite Its other qualities and It Is very well made It would not any other ending The right choice was made It is not a Christian movie but it far surpasses today films There is a moral to the story It recognizes right and wrong It acknowledges the permanence of marriage for this world Moral assumptions and princip les underlay many old books and plays and movies Today it is more often immoral assumptions the underlie fiction In any form Casablanca Is not a Christian movie but that is not because it portrays certain sins gambling booting Christians are still sinful and live in a world devoted to sin There Is no sense denying the reality of sin What makes a difference Is how sin la handled Casablanca could have been a Christian movie if Rick had been presented struggling with sin in a Christian way He finally does recognize right and wrong But he should have been shown that It Is God Who Is offended by anything and everything wrong including sinful desires Admitting sin he could have been told about forgiveness because of Jesus death on the cross a sacrifice infinitely greater than other The Gospel should have played a The message of forgiveness for Jesus sake should have been Rick motivation for mak lng the right choices That would have made It a Christian movie Elora rocks Royals ESS SB Elan very pood Hon 3807 GOLDEN BUM LING RESULTS Maud Terrell Skylark By JAMES ROBHXARD If era Id Correspondent The Rocks crushed the Royals Friday dream of sleeping outdoors in winter with only a thin suit of pajamas a nightgown to shield you against tho cold millions of motorists this winter will louvo vehicles outdoors or in unhealed garages overnight and expect in slant starts the next morning Tho family vehicle is Just as vulnerable to cold you arc At minus a fully chanted battery furnishes only of the cranking power it produces Just picture this same battery at minus trying to start a cold engine thai now calls for three and a half times the crank normally required at There s another problem If you do manage to gel the engine
