Staff Getting know the Indian tribe requires a unique lesson in history But Georgetown Little Theatre actors received applause and guffaws in appreciation of their lesson about The Bungaloosa performed last week The play with words and lyrics written by local man Ron Hill who also directed It appealed to the young audience it was written for right down to the coloring book program Adults who took their children were not forgotten either as there was enough satire to keep them involved The Is George town Little Theatres Association of Community Theatres of Central Ontario ACT CO festival entry the final performance adjudicator Sandy Black shared his opinions of the play with the audi ence Mr Black is the director of the Technical Production Program of the Theatre School In almost every way the play was good he said The first thing he complimented In his modest way was that Ihe words lyrics and music were written by local people He was also impressed by the number or people involved in the production Charming music and confi dent singing were how Mr Black described the music There was good balance between the music and voices and a tightly paced plot kept the play fast moving he said lie complemented the Indian dancing and the music that accom panied it but he felt there should have been more Mr Black ted the piny s brand of comedy which he called British twitishness The sets props lighting special effects costumes and makeup were all praised He even took time to highlight the program which had a coloring contest on It All in all The play was good fast moving gentle and satirical he said It was difficult to tell how much Mr Black liked the play because he was so polite and helpful The audience reaction to It was judge After every song they clapped Some even sang along to a sing a long before they were asked to participate The children seemed to love Ihe slapstick and parents laughed at cracks about the government and Maple Leafs If there was anything wrong about The It was the length It was only two short acts That was only enough time to get to know the characters or get involved in the plot In a superficial way Weeks left Georgetowns
