not end with the 10 dismissal bell Many go from school to a part time Job Parttime work distracts students and- Is a significant factor con tributing to Ontario a 33 per cent high school dropout rate a report commissioned by the education ministry said High school students should be for bidden from doing part time work during school terms author of the report George Radwanski Elated This Roberts president of HETA proposed Ihe board reduce the gap between elementary and secondary spending in the 1988 budget As well the delegation suggested that Ihe board reach the provincial Average In elementary school per pupil spending by Ihe 1990 budget year to provide statf and material resources necessary to en sure the quality education for Halton students By using visual aids such as graphs and charts Mr Roberts showed how Region ranked second highest In terms of class size with 19 other boards Halton ranks among the lowest of perpupil dltures when compared wilh other boards For example
