the confused Loretta engaged to one man but In love with brother She is the woman who knows exactly what she wants until she gets It She is proud assertive Intelligent passionate and beautiful Nicholas Cage Is marvellous as the tormented brother who looks mildly primitive with a low forehead and mad hair but be Is teriy convincing as the man who can sweep Loretta off her feet Dukakis Is perfect as the despairing philosophical and majestic Rose Vincent Gardenia Is the cheating Cosmo fearing his own mortality and unable to appreciate what be has Challapin son or grand son of the famous bass Is the dog loving grandfather and Danny Alello Is the foolish Johnny There have been a slew of Oscar nominations for the acting in this film and the movie Itself Is nominated for best film Do not ex pect a lot of excitement this is a slow and sweet film taking its time but Ihe moon and the nights are magical I was never bored and I left the theatre feeling warm and happy That is a good way to
