their water supply The Milran subdivision Is located just west of the 10th Line adjacent to Hills Village At a public meeting late last year residents worried that construc tion on the subdivision might inter nipt their well water supply They pointed to a similar situa tion which occurred during the Meagan Developments subdivision in Glen Williams last year In that instance a Road couple lost their water while earth moving was occurring on the Meagan sub division The Road cou ple said no tests were done on their well prior to the earth moving Despite clauses In the subdivision agreement which were designed to protect their water supply the residents could not collect money to book up to town water from the developer Halton Region or fromi the town of Hills They were forced to draw water from a fire hydrant for several months But two clauses inserted into the subdivision agreement should pro vide adequate protection for the residents near Milran subdivision said town planner Ian Keith Mon day As a condition of the subdivision agreement developers will have to submit a study detailing the impacts of develop ment on any adjacent wells As well the developer will have to run a water monitoring program before any construction including earth moving begins on the site said Mr Keith The developer will have to pro vide a temporary water supply to any residents whose water is inter rupted during construction he said Although some councillors said they wanted the clauses worded more strongly administrator clerk Dan Costea said the towns lawyer is drawing up a clause which would stand up to examination in court Tenth Line resident Jay Jackson said residents still question the water situation Residents are not sure how water would be provided or who would pay the final costs he said Single parents gathering Are you a single parent in- nights Join Parents Without terested in attending family Partners For information call tivities dances discussions card at SONGS
