matter for another two weeks the Halton Board of Education voted Thursday to approve a million fiveyear plan to treat emotionally- disturbed students in the schools The object of the said Superintendent of Special Educa tion Services Garry Grossman is to reduce the average four students in every Halton classroom who could be dangerous to themselves or others A motion introduced at Thursday nights board of education meeting asked the board to delay a decision on the plan until the next board meeting Feb but a tie vote was broken by chairman Pat and the motion to defer was lost Five trustees who voted against the fiveyear plan did so because they felt the motion was not well- researched in terms on the number of staff needed and the amount of money required A proposal originally submitted by Mr Crossman asked for 14 speech pathologists among the in creased staff The new report re quests 17 speech pathologists The whole thing seems self- perpetuating said Burlington trustee Noel Cooper I cant buy the cost based on no data to sup port it he said Youve asked for a million dollars on some pie-in- thesky numbers But as far as knowing the precise number of para The town of Halton Hills has agreed to pay in expenses for a Guelph University class led by Professor J C to study the lake the winter A similar study conducted last year by Guelph University students showed the lake could be affected by storm water drainage which is bringing pollutants into the lake Guelph students have already begun work on the lake with the in tent of producing a report on their
