Hockey League are joining forces to put on a clinic to offer assistance to those in terested in the slightest manner in the officiating of hockey games The Georgetown Minor Hockey Association is one of the first organizations in Ontario to offer direct assistance to those with the slightest notion they may like to try their hand with a whistle it at hockey officiating in the Minor Hockey Program This 1hour meeting could be the start of a new and rewarding career in the of ficiating business It could enable the parent who has been upset on certain nights to have a better understanding of the game and do a few kids games for fun and exer cise in the Minor Hockey Program One of the main sources for of ficials at any level is Bantam Midget and Juvenile hockey teams To give you a perfect exam ple Bryan Lewis former NHL referee of more than 1000 NHL games and current Supervisor of Officials and of Development started his of ficiating career on Saturday morn ings at the Memorial Arena all Co ordinator of Development Bryan Lewis both Georgetown residents and having children in the what better place to start than your own home town said Lewis The NHL has offered their full sup port for this program and Bryan Lewis plans to attend offering his expertise and speak from reality that it is possible to get from the Georgetown arenas into the NHL buildings if that be your desire The Ontario Hockey Association through the cooperation of Brent Ladds President and another Georgetown resident along with Will Norris Referee Coordinator and former TriCounty official have offered their full support and will be supplying printed material to each prospective official Information on the Ontario Hockey Association Officiating School will be available at this meeting As a note of
