Georgetown results were as follows LEVEL I Bassett first Time Out I king of the hill in Halton There is now no doubt that Time Out I have clinched the divi sion league championship With two results to complete the team cannot be caught The matches are both against Brackens who will be out to stop the unbeaten season at tempt by the leaders The large battle looms between Hollywood and McGibbon I for second and third place Both teams are level on points and play each other in the last two matches By the time the column is in print the first of the matches will be over The other single point of interest the leading player is all but over Gary Rod- da McGibbon I has pulled away steadily these past few weeks from his nearest rival Pete Pickering Time Out I with the other Time Outers in pursuit Last week Time Out I visited Copper Kettle and lost but one set self and Danny Fraser going down to hot shooting Joe Benoit and Greg Cummins In fact only one set went less than the full three games and it was not as widespread as the result suggests Kettle were also shorthanded on the night Benoit finished 116 Ron Corbett scored 150 and Ged Williams scored 140 for the sole Time Out I solo effort Jim Carter scored 160 and Eddie Patterson scored for OTooles against Brackens and no revenge for the visitors here as Brackens rail out winners OTooles also were shorthanded having only four players on the night and three points were lost to the dummy sets took three singles and both doubles for their five points Meanwhile Hollywood were tak ing the girls down to an 112 loss the same score that shot and closed 108 playing with dummy wonhis doubles The leagues playoffs are dif ferent they all take place on Sun days with open draws for each set singles doubles and teams The doubles have already worked their way to the semi final stage and Rick Harden and Terry Kouyoum jian of Hollywood are the only players from our division to reach this stage The singles take place on Sunday April 23 at the Army Navy and Air Club Lakeshore and Cawthra not Bramalea as originally stated The registration is from 1030 am and set for am The Industrial league is winding down to the end of league play with also two weeks to go Althougtrthe first division is won by Snowjacks Hustlers the battle is on for second and third place between Exports and Westenders Enders are third one point behind and have one match to play against Exports two to play The hammer is with Ex ports for now Wait there is some for in that Exports next match is against the cham pion Snowjacks Hustlers This result could determine the chances of the Westenders Exports Pete Pickering is on a tear right now and is the player very much in form If there was a player of the week it would be he this past Wednes day A finish of is rare and dif ficult the only way to achieve the desired end is treble treble and bull Pickering did just that in the seventh set against High Rollers He had four starts and three closes in the
