en thusiasts will be on the road help ing the cause of Spinal Cord Research on May and theyre looking for your support For the past two years a group of friends and coworkers have been tiding the roads of Halton Hills in an unofficial annual race to help raise funds for Spinal Cord Research This year about riders will spin off from the Becker s Plaza in Acton riding either a 17 km competitive course or a challenging competitive course and they raise money for their efforts through sponsors The race is the brainchild of a group whose spokesman Jim Stoneham said came about in the wake of the paralyzing bicycle accident suffered by former Canadian Olympic cyclist Lovell Stoneham said will be at the Beckers Plaza on May 27 to officially start the event which eludes several of his personal Ladies Basketball League After closely trailing the Blue Zone for most of the 1989 regular season schedule the Pacemakers grabbed first place by only half a game in the final contest of the campaign Now after finishing second to the Zone in the leagues recent round robin playoff format the Pacemakers have done it again Steady Anita Stankus supplied points for a balanced Pacemaker offence as the squad captured the 1989 playoff championship by upending the Blue Zone at Centennial Middle School last Wednesday In the consolation final on Wednesday Carol Kovacevic and Susan Thorn each hooped
