made a stop at the Bronx Village Here the ladies enjoyed seeing all the crafts especially the quilts The bottom floor of the Bronx bad an extensive display of Christinas decorations and craft material to purchase The ladies broke for lunch at the Loft Restaurant in Bronx Village A large smorgasbord menu proved to be very filling and delightful Members continued their trip by driving to St Jacobs Sitting on benches outside the St Jacobs Library the ladies had their business meeting A report was given on the recent District Annual Womens Institute meeting After their business meeting the ladies visited the Old Mill Here there was something for everyone par taste Crafts included stain ed glass clothing apple dolls paintings and some beautiful quilts The ladles also visited an old blacksmith shop which displayed a forage After looking through a few more recently renovated shops near the Old Mill the ladies headed home The Womens Institute will resume meeting in September The Balllnafad Ladies baseball game on Thursday June IS was a battle when they met up with Club 21 It was ads home game Throughout the game the winning score was shared by both teams won the game without having to prevailed for what many say was the largest outdoor pure auto show in Cana dian history This years event with spectators numbering over 7000 followed on last years overwhelming in augural success Sundays show is expected to put in excess of 000 into the Canadian Cancer Societys war chest to further the ongoing battle against cancer Organizing committee members and Society representatives were thrilled with the popular response shown by sponsors entrants volunteers and the public An organizing committee member said business sponsors should feel proud the fact that over per cent of the start up and contingen cy funds required to run the event came from the local Hills area Approximately 115 volunteers catered to the needs of the entrants and the seemingly hoards of people who arrived in a six hour period to view the vast array of automobiles on display Local Kinsmen Op timists Kinettes Optimises and Chamber of Commerce volunteers pitched in invaluably to make this show happen Andwhatashowitwas Eighty five per cent of the vehicles judged achieved awards of excellence following the tabula tion of the formal judging The cars and trucks ranged from an economy minded three stands everyones surprise and delight the guy could play Edgars guitar well like ringing a Bell The extremely popular Credit Valley Jazz Cats and John McDonalds Sudden Impact also played to bleachers full of visitors taking a break from viewing the almost overwhelming number of automotive displays Many enjoy ing the fruits of their own labour performed at the Worlds Largest Do It Yourself Ice
