beat another as the ladies show tremendous com petitive spirits Here are tbe results of last weeks games Pink Cadillacs 20 HalfCrocd 11 Pink Cadillacs continue to im prove with each outing In this game they put their feet to the ac celerators and left the Crockers in the dust swung a big bat by knocking a ball over the left field fence Holly Peterson smacked out two doubles and Jane Shipley chip ped in with one Annette Van Dyke starred in the field making a great catch Stellar pitching by Betty and Brenda Hamilton helped pace the Caddies to a decisive win HalfCrocd came up against a hot team and lost a decision Pat Morey led the batting attack strok tag two doubles Jennie David and Carolyn Gingras both bit the ball hard Sandy Robinson had a good night pitching as she got five strikeouts in a losing cause Newcomer Kim Vinneau made her presence welcome by belting out a nice hit for the ladies Rogers Dodgers 17 Red Sox A shorthanded Dodger club shook off a pesky Sox team and got an important victory Linda and Jan Walker poked out homers to lead the hit parade legged out two doubles and had five ribbies Ladies tennis The Gordon Ladies A Inter County tennis team came up against tough competition last week with a Brampton team that came down from the Major divi Our teams were Pat Hams and Kay King Ann Kennedy and Audrey Houston Donna Mac Donald and Debbie Koster Fran cine and Norma Maynard The Ladies split against Brampton On the winning side were Ouida Graville and Wilson Daiga and Trudy Roy Joanne Van Den Hoek and Mary Hughes Griffiths and Agnes Lawrence were on the losing side The mixed team took five points against Bramalea Winning teams were Kevin Neill and Peter Acton Dean Jackson and Mike Hurley Bob Houston and Larry Sisnett Pauline Kent and Rene March in three sets and in a sparkl ing win Hurley and Bernie The C mixed did well against Brampton by taking five points John Dallison and Andy Humenny bad two tie breakers 76 76 for their win Debbie Koster and Bill Kent in three sets won with 60 Audrey Houston and Murray Jans won 75 Bruce Payn and Mark 61 and Jim Coming second were Barb Rieget and Graville From Texas comes Mike Mit chell welcome home MikeL On Aug will be G ATC Ladies and Mens Doubles tourna ment convenor Barb eger Doc Thompson fresh from her review of the Chippendales I had her eyes wide open and went at the plate The Red Sox continue to struggle after a promising start Jean Puckenng and Carolyn pitched valiantly for the Sox and Sherry Love had a double to highlight an otherwise dreary night for the Sox Travelling Blueberries The Berry bunch swarmed all over their fellow fruits and slugged out a big win Karen Smith had three singles and two for the travellers Colleen Cadger scored twice as did Moreland Heather Cart- wright chipped in with two big base hits to lead the Blueberries past the Peaches Lifes a Peach had all kinds of chances to put this game out but couldnt come up with the key base hits Patti lashed out a to headline the Peach attack The ladies put together a good defensive game as Debbie Knoepfli and Debbie Titus made good cat ches afield Bonnie Schell and Lynn also showed a good set of hands for the Peach ladies but overall the result was the pits Raisin Hell 12 Blue Zone 10 A resurgent hell raisers won their second consecutive as the whole team put out a solid effort Maxine pitched a good game and Penny Cassista Peggy and Carol Spiten shone defensively Jane Romp stole three bases and Miller scored two runs to bead a well balanced attack for Bishops Broads All the Blue Zone ladies were shaking thejr heads in this one say ing Wheres Rerun However assistant coaches Larry Milton and Gary Richardson had the girls ready for a good game Cindy Kemper continues to knock the cover off the ball as she pounded out a dinger Hamilton pitched a fine game and Anne Korzack played her usual solid self The Zoners fell just short in this well played con test Blue Lite Its Not Easy Being Green 1 With a score totally not in dicative of the play Blue Lite came out on top in this game Both teams performed brilliant and other than a first inning lapse by the Greeners this affair would have been much closer Blue Lite soared back into the lead of the pack with this impor tant win Julie and Mary Kelly pitched terrifically for the Blue crew Lucia Oram and Linda Armstrong were also sharp defen sively Debbie Tatham Jean Wilson and put on a fireworks display at the plate for Col in s Crusaders For the Greenies it was a long night at the plate but Chris Joyce Hut- chins and Serena Atwood played good aggressive defence Shady Ladies 14 Dirty Shirts 13 In a monumental challenge two of the GLPLs giants clashed and the outcome was in doubt until the final pitch After building a seemingly insur mountable lead Shaynes Shady Ladies almost blew it Ev Metier saved the day by get ting a key third out in the bottom of the seventh Donna Davey and Sue Martin combined for five hits and took time out from the four off to go three Jen Reynolds led the Dirty Shirts with three hits including a long pie Pat Akers also raced out a tn pie and might have done some bodily harm as well Janet Ransom continues her masterful pitching and Karen Porter had two timely put outs to squelch out Shady Gals rallies The game was the highlight of the GLPL as both teams fought tooth and nail
