they defeated 3112 Avia surprised an under manned Bums Transport squad with a decision while narrowly defeated Corrigan Rockwell lost by default to hand Letts Dive an easy two points Lisa Allen seems to have little trouble picking apart Burns defence as she boasts a 20 record against them Rosemary Gale scored for Avia in the first half while Carole Johnson kicked the single Burns appeared to be in trouble with little time left in the third quarter when mishandled a punt and Hamilton alertly jumped on the loose pigskin to give Burns ex cellent field position Donna scored a touchdown while Hamilton picked up two points to tie the game Avia scored a single previously on a punt Late in the fourth Rosemary Gale pulled in her se cond touchdown and a two point convert Lorraine Capreol and Sandy each had in terceptions to stall the Bullfrogs offence Corngan looked as if they might pull off an upset in spite of their lade of a first string Ruth performed superbly in her debut as quarter back She found Michele Keess for six but Corrigan gambled for two and came up short Keess also had two interceptions along with one for teammate Shelli Harrison offence lacked the direction of Nancy George Kelly Cunningham had a good defensive effort as she picked off two passes Donna Brown had the other interception Arnies score came on a pass and run to Sue Ferguson while Joanne Searle chipped in the game winner Flicks minus an injured Monica pulled in- to first with the help of backup quarterback Julie and excellent defensive play of Marg Fournier struck gold with bullets to and Nancy Hamilton picked off two dead ducks and returned them 60 and yards for TDs Carey Brabant also had an in terception On the last play of the game Julie Fournier pulled a quarter back sneak and ran 50 yards for a JVs offence floundered at the hand of Deb Barber Cathy and Kim Beckett had JVs only touchdown Barber will need a few weeks to fall into her old form GAME STARS Rosemary Gale A Wendy heats up in the Georgetown Mens Flag football League The league has been in operation in Georgetown for the past 13 years and the Dairy Queen have had a virtual stranglehold on league laurels for the past four years In last years championship final Dairy Queen claimed their Tot Lot program offered for parents Parents If you need a hand with keeping your three to five- yearolds happy and interested this summer the Recreation and Parks Department is offering an eightweek fun filled safe and well supervised program Tot Lot operates five days a week am pm with extended hours 8 am pm You may choose Offensively Gary Hulbert of leads the league scor ing race with points Corrigans Brad Ferguson is challenging however with a 73 scoring point total Gary Lockwood of Dairy Queen and Louis DePaoli of Muscle Works share defensive excellence honors Each has six interceptions Lockwood gets the edge in this category having returned one in terception for a touchdown In games played last Sunday the Oldtimers edged Kerry Kitchens Dairy Queen claimed a defaulted win over which didnt have enough players to field a proper team according to league regulations Corrigan stun ned Plus Welding the Glen humbled and 200 and Longhorns humiliated Muscle Works with another awesome display of offence In action this Sunday at the high school field Corrigan takes on Muscle Works in an 845 am start play
