Professional at Chedoke Sponsored by Golf Limited of the Tour is in its sixth year of operation Its aim is to groom possible future com petitive players Three graduates of the Tour are presently attending American Universities on golf scholarships There is a strict dress and behavior code in effect and dis qualification looms for any player not willing to abide by the rules It goes without saying that proper golf etiquette must be observed at all times The Tour is open to young golfers in the HamiltonWentworth Halton Regions under years-of- age before Sept 1 A qualifying round was held trophy and has monies set aside at his golf clubs Pro Shop In addition each event winner gets a trophy and trophies are awarded to the Rookie of the Year the player with the best stroke average the player with the most birdies and the player with the most pars The Tours top 20 winners in cluding ties also have monies set aside for the purchase of merchan dise at his clubs Pro Shop Those players eligible are also competing for the following years The Georgetown PontiacBuick Raiders will open the home stand of their 198990 Central Ontario Junior B Hockey League game schedule with a game Sept team agenda at present was the staging of the threenight rookie camp scheduled to begin Aug at Gordon Alcott Memorial Arena Since the parting of the ways with the then Guelph and now Owen Sound Major set for season By COLIN GIBSON Herald Sports Editor A league meeting held last Wednesday evening in Alliston finalized the regular season MidOntario Junior Hockey League schedule according to Acton Sabres General Manager Robin further reported that the league has adopted a new playoff format that sees the regular season champion getting a first round playoff bye The second place regular season finisher takes on the seventh place team number three challenges the sixth place finisher and the fourth place regular season finisher challenges the fifth place squad All playoff series are bestofseven affairs In second round play the regular season champion will take on the winner of the vs series In previous years the league offered a roundrobin playoff format Sabres will play a 36game regular season schedule and open on the road Oct 6 with a game slated against Alliston Hornets Perennial league powerhouse Crushers invade the friendly confines of Community Centre Oct in the Sabres
