Police will get an extra 000 from the Region to help fund an expansion project in Georgetown The board of police sioners applied to Region to get an increase from a budget allocation of 000 to 000 to build a security garage and a meeting room at the 11 Division precinct on Street The proposed expansion of the police station will be added to the south of the building at the main entrance on Guelph Street A security garage on the premises will guard against escap ing or violent prisoners You drive in with your prisoner and there is a camera that monitors your entrance said 11 Division Georgetown Sgt David Hallways in the police sta tion are already monitored by camera Once the garage bay comes down the setting is controlled and monitored So if there is an altercation or there is an escape attempt it s go ing to be complicated for the prisoner Sgt Pruitt said The security garage is a pro active measure rather than a reaction to violent outbreaks or escape attempts Sgt Pruitt said Security garages are not high tech and are not sophisticated equipment the sergeant said The Burlington and precincts already have security garages The meeting room to be built at the Guelph Street on the theft of a Case back hoe from a construction site at Lower Base Line Milton The victim in this theft was in stalling a cellular tower at Lower Base Line On Friday Aug 11 1389 at 3 m the victim completed work for the day and left the back hoe on the property The property is fenced however the gate was unlocked The vie Urn returned to the job site on Thursday Aug 17 and discovered the back hoe missing A witness advises that on Saturday Aug 12 he observed a male driving the missing back hoe from the construction site on to Lower Base Line The back hoe was then loaded onto a yellow trailer attached to a dark brown dump truck The suspect vehicle HALTON then drove westbound on Lower Base Line The stolen construction equip ment is described as a 1985 Case back hoe with loader
