Page 20 THE HERALD Wednesday September 1389 Bleedle Bleedle Bleedle Bleedle Bleedle Bleedle Reed Burton sat at the front of our small aluminum boat stating intently at the screen of the marvellous little machine that was mounted in front of him Reeds fishfinder was talking back to us Now that was nice fish pro bably a decent muskie Speed up the troll a bit Len He was right under the boat Maybe our lures will excite him as they pass by I turned up the throttle of my trusty or Johnson motor and braced for a hit but our lures moved freely dancing unmolested through the clear cool Kosh Lake water Not hungry I guess eh Reed Indeed none of the in this neighborhood seemed to have an appetite on this hot bright day We were being convincingly shut out In spite of our efforts BEEP Now I had learned earlier that this particular sound indicated what Reed called a zone change We were entering an area of deeper water Hey youre catchin on Yep fifteen feet dropping now twenty twentynine And then Bleedle Bleedle Bleedle Blee dle Bleedle Good God Reed muttered his face becoming just a little more pasty than usual as he adjusted his fine fedora on his fettered forehead Bleedle Bleedle Bleedle Blee It must be a mistake it cant be not that big hey Pass over that drop of f again And of course I complied Its huge Were marking Dropin program Our DropIn program for disabl ed adults has WINDSHIELD REPAIRS HamAa AH Claims 8731655 something very big here Hey maybe its a sunken boat floating off bottom yeah thats it Yeah sure I thought A sunken boat maybe a body or the grand son of Loch Ness or Reed I said our boat is still moving and whatever it is its stayin right under us Now this is my day with a fishfinder and all but even I know Bleedle Bleedle even I know that sunken boats and dead bodies dont move along at trollin speed I Thats got to be a fish A muskie a giant And its definitely in terested In our boat Reed kept staring at the screen and muttered something about a fish that seemed to be six feet long maybe world record And then it was gone Just like that Nothing We circled over the spot again and again but the only sound to be heard was the incessant drone of the outboard motor Nope it was Anyway Len Reed said his gaze now removed from the little screen you get the idea right Wasnt that exciting Now nor mally youd troll over that spot and would happen and youd think of it But with this baby here Reed continued pointing proudly to his magical lit tle fishfinder at least youd know theres a big one down there and you could go after him Plus the added knowledge you get from the depth readings Twentyfive feet now rocky bottom So urn when are you goin to get one of these units anyway I just laughed For starters it would probably take a few years worth of allowance to afford a good unit and in any case I could see my grandfather up there on Heaven Lake cringing at the thought of using anything except ones own innate senses for cat ching fish Yeah but that sly guy would probably sneak the fish- finder into his repertoire using an oversized lunch bucket as a disguise Okay Reed Im convinced I said Ill get one soon as I can That might be a while but Ill get one Now were heading into a part of the lake I dont know very well so read out those depth numbers buddy Twentyeight thirtyone thirtythree Bleedle Nice fish probably a walleye Reed continued thirtytwo twentynine thirtythree two uhoh lookout And as I jumped up to raise the motor and save my prop from our Impending crash it was Reeds turn to laugh Want To COMPLAIN dont know what to say or ingredients coupled with a number of injuries to key personnel proved fatal against an inspired Corrigan unit Corrigan played a complete game Sunday and the final score accurately reflects their dominance of the game The offensive firepower directed by strongarmed quarterback Pat McKinnon was more than match ed by a tenacious and disciplined defensive which rose to the occa sion whenever Dairy Queen threatened to get back in the game Corrigan scored on the first play of the game and midway into the first half led 140 Interceptions by Wayne Stasivlis and Les Storr aid ed the cause Down
