Betty Dickinson sister of Ross Don and Bill Garhutt and the late Mary died suddenly on Sept 1969 at Georgetown Hospital after enjoying two and a quarter years of life at the Ben nett Health Care Centre Betty and Mrs Myrtle Zileo had enjoyed a monthlong adven ture in Alberta this past summer Betty and her late husband John lived in Stewarttown for over 30 years and was a member of the Anglican Church and Guild there Betty will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her family and by her many friends Sincere sympathy is ex tended to her family Milton prizes A number of farm families in on their Clydesdale Brood Mare and a first and third in the 1989 Filly Class They also won first on the top Filly born in 1989 in all heavy breeds and was presented with a halter by William Their son Tyler won first place on his Junior Holstein Heifer in the Class at the Milton Fair Hairy Brander R Norval won first on a sheaf of corn and a third on cob torn Sincere sympathy Anmversary Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Fred Switzer of Georgetown who passed away on Sept 27 1989 at the Credit Valley Hospital Loving brother of Jean of Geuigetown Irene Bloor of Brampton Fisher of Georgetown and Dons Broun of Limehouse and the late Miry Is mond and Arnold Swittr Father of Joe Ken Randy Sharon attended school at Corners and was the son of the late Mr and Mrs Jot Switzer who show Chocolite milk was donated by Harwell Mutual In surance for the evening Brampton WI The Brampton West Womens Institute and the Presbyterian Church Friendship club met together at the Presbyterian Church Tuesday Sept 19 for an evening of fun and travel Betty McClure welcomed everyone on behalf of the friend ship club Mae Dixon opened the meeting with the Opening Ode Mary Stewart and the Lords Prayer The central area convention is to be held at the Royal York Hotel Oct and Terry will be the delegate with Mae Dixon as alternate The members voted to give a donation to the Peel Memorial Hospital later in the year A euchre will be held at tonville School Oct 20 at 30 and please bring a table The evening was turned over to Doris Sharpe and Margaret who with commentary and slides gave a very interesting presentation of their recent rip to Labrador They told of a beautiful but rugged country which they travelled through by bus and train Mrs McKay gave the courtesies and presented the Tom a former Halton teacher is looking for a room approximately the size of a classroom to store and sort the textbooks and novels he has ac quired since Grenada last Christmas Mr went to Grenada under the sponsorship of the Phi Delta Kappa Chapter of the University of Toronto He went with six other dians and attended many ceremonies Mr spoke with parents students and teaches about educational objectives and programmes There re a number of pro blems with the system in Grenada I the most si nous being a lack of material Mr Ramautarsingh said He is hoping the local service clubs in Georgetown will help raise money to store the books and transport them to Grenada Teaching methods are also a problem By shanng the teaching methods that work in Canada teachers and supervisors can help educate deal using some of the new methodology Mr said What have got from us is our knowledge in certain areas including guidance computers special education ad ministration He added the learning was not all
