sub divisions and to the Georgetown South area if town council ap proves Mayor Millers recommendation next Monday town has enough water to supply 1350 houses but has developers who have applied for a total 5418 houses according to a town water report Town Council approved six ap plications for development in cluding Holdings two ap plications by Halton Hills Village Homes Inc the Maple Creek sub division by Milran Investments Ltd and the expansion on ex isting property owned by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society But Mayor Miller said developers will have to receive water approval on an individual basis If thats what it requires for the town to sit and listen to these developers Im prepared to do that Mayor Miller said The mayor said by reviewing each developer at town council meetings we can be the master of our own destiny If we have good planning and good allocation decisions combin ed were not freezing anybody out Were just saying wed like to take a good look at every one of you Acton Coun Norm Elliott said approving the mayors water recommendation will mean developers will be lining up to get water to allow subdivision projects to go ahead Wed better be prepared to make some hard decisions fast he said There are over units on the drawing board at the present time The towns decision next week will be forwarded to Halton Region The Region put together the water report and conducted water studies for the Georgetown area Regional director of develop ment review Pat Murphy spoke to Hills councillors Mon day night asking for a specific report Mr Murphy said he wants to know what to tell developers who call and ask if they are eligible for water We would like to understand how Halton Hills council wishes to proceed from here Mr Mur phy said Where do we go from here in terms of defining the alloca tions Mayor Miller said the town and Regional staff could discuss the implications of the towns deci sion on water allocation Open door centre holds silent auction The Open Door Dropin Centre will celebrate its fifth anniversary at a silent auction at Holy Cross auditorium in Georgetown this Saturday Executive Director Vanessa BellSmith said the items available at the silent auction were donated by local businesses A variety of items will be available for bidding at Saturdays auction including gift certificates a fire extinguisher and a model house The auction runs from am to 2 Seal your letters The Lung Association of Halton Region has kicked off its annual Christmas Seals campaign and over households throughout the Region should be receiving their seals in the mail shortly The Lung Association hopes to raise in this year Thats a six per cent increase over last years total The association has received over so far from donors who sent their seals in early November Proceeds from the event will be used for the Open Doors dropin program and the Young Parents program also run by Open Door MsBellSmith said Open Door members have work ed to put the silent auction together and several members will have their artwork and poems on display throughout the day BellSmith Admission to the silent auction is free Anyone who wants to donate items to the auction or can call Vanessa BellSmith at Christmas show County Radial Railway will hold two Christmas night shows this year The shows will be held on Dec and from 7 pm to 10 pm shows will con plete with Christmas lighting and street cars The railways museum is located on the Guelph Line near Admission is for adults and for seniors and children Dear Sir Red Cross officials reported donors attended the Blood Clinic Monday Nov and donated 292 units of blood This clinic was spon sored by the Lions Club their help with distribution of posters setting up clinic loading equipment and general assistance at the clinic is appreciated Thanks to Dr Thompson who was on call volunteers staff nursery help and drivers the clergy John Ollivier of Halton Cable Systems Halton Hills Hydro for displaying promotional ban ners Dairy Queen for donation of juice and cups Pizza Hut for tea and serviettes Miracle Mart for coffee for Mr Ferguson of Macs Milk and Coco- Cola Ltd for soft drinks CWL for kitchen help and Mr C Dom- for use of Holy Cross Auditorium Special thanks to Betty Mitton and her telephone committee to Shirley Chaplin for publicity and promotion and to Reed and Alice
