High School athletes Anna and Spence have been selected in the Halton Secondary Schools Athletic Association Secondary School Athletic Convenor Peter Moore was on hand Tuesday at GDHS to meet the young athletes and reward their athletic achievements The theWeek pro gram in Halton is sponsored by Chaps Restaurant Ltd of Burl ington and Oakville Both Anna and received Chaps hats and dinner certificates Anna is cocaptain and starting setter for the Rebels senior girls volleyball team currently dominating play in the Halton East Division The Rebels have a stranglehold on first place in the division and sport an undefeated record Annas excellent play and leadership abilities have played an important part in the Rebels suc cesses to date In tournament play senior girls volleyball team coach Bevin Clark has described Annas efforts as outstanding In last weekends High School of Hamilton tournament featunng five AAA teams Anna led the Rebels to an impressive fourth place overall finish Her efforts were so dominant that Anna was selected as a first team allstar setter Her experience is expected to stand the Rebels in good stead as the team prepares to challenge for provincial honors As a member of the Rebels senior boys Nordic ski team led the squad to its best ever finish at the North York In vitational Ski Meet held in last weekend finished ninth in his race in a field of 100 entrants A member of the senior boys Southern Ontario ski team he at tended the World Junior Trials held recently in Thunder Bay With his talent and team oriented leadership at the forefront the Rebels are hoping Dwight will lead the team to a pro vincial top 10 ranking this season Ski celebrations take to slopes All parts of Canada are planning to be Gone Skiing celebrating National Ski Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance will have a beginner fully confident in the basics of alpine or cross country skiing The Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors will send a beginner onto the
