to a stalemate with Markham in a game played March at Georgetown s Gordon Alcott Memorial Arena This Saturday Sunny Acre Farms will trek to Markham for a return visit while the fourth game in the edition of the Georgetown International Bantam Hockey Tournament annual id well under way at Gordon Alcott Memorial Arena and Halton Hills representatives have been posting mixed results Acton Firefighters and Georgetown Domtar are com in Division of the four division tournament while Georgetown and M Pro Sports are carrying local colors in Division In all 32 teams in four divisions are parading their shinny skills for area hockey affidonados with championship games and the Grand Championship Final slated for Saturday at Gordon Memorial Arena Georgetown Domtar sport all record after two days of Acton Firefighters have a tie and a loss while M and Pro Sports have only contested in one game a 32 loss to Royal York At press time results from Tues days encounters were not available Royal York 3 M and Pro Sports M and M Pro Sports jumped out to an early first period lead thanks to a counter by Dave Osborne who converted a pass from Jake Mashintcr then Royal York dominated play before the locals got back on the scoreboard Three Royal York goals within a five minute span in the second penod allowed the Toronto visitors to move in front 31 before Jake on passes from Shawn Pearson and Steve Wright got Georgetown back into contention with 3 left in the second stanza From that point however Georgetown goaltender Tom Diar and his counterpart in the Royal York nets Tim Stevenson stole the show and Royal York was able to eke out the win 5 Georgetown Domtar 3 In Georgetown initial foray into tournament play Satur day an early Ancaster offensive surge held up for the win led 10 after the first period and extended the lead to after two periods before Georgetown got the lumber unlimbered Unfortunately by that time it was too late Georgetown and An caster traded three goals apiece in the final frame with Ancaster get ting the final nod by a count Randy Bond scored a pair of Georgetown goals with Jim Kavanaugh rounding out the scor Georgetown 4 Hamilton 2 Georgetown almost suf the same fate in their second tournament outing by letting Hamilton move in front 20 with a little over seven minutes left in the second period Four unanswered Georgetown goals over the balance of the game however settled the issue the hometown favorites favor Randy Bond proved to be the most lethal gunner for Georgetown collecting a hat trick Scott McGuigan added a single marker and an assist Hamilton Acton Firefighters 3 In Acton Firefighters opening tournament game a larger more physical Hamilton team simply wore down the Leathertown squad The game was tied 22 moving in to third period play then Acton sagged while Hamilton surged Three third period Hamilton goals to but a single reply from Acton decided the battle Dave was a going con cern for Acton throughout the con test and collected a pair of goals Derrick who also notched assists on both of markers rounded out the Acton scoring Acton Firefighters AncasterII Acton Firefighters had this game well in hand but allowed An caster to battle back for the stalemate Acton Firefighters led 20 after the first and after the scoreless second stanza should have had the upper hand down the homestretch Ancaster counted the pair of ty ing goals with just over six minutes to play in the game to frustrate the Acton hopes of collecting a win Jason McNaught had a goal and an assist for Acton as did Dave ACTON players Jim
