spring in eluding Disabled athletes receive grant The Ministry of Tourism and Recreation mikinj it easier for disabled athletes participate in sports competitions with Ihe assistance of a 60 grant Ontario Minister of Tourism and Recreation Ken Black announced the grant to Sport for Disabled recent Sport for Disabled Ontario promotes competitions for disabled athletes Mr Black said I am proud to ass this organization and the thousands of dedicated athletes who are pursuing their highest potential Sport for Disabled will use the money to assist clubs and in dividual athletes with the costs of participating in sports events The funds will cover the athlete travel and accommodation expenses as well as administrative costs A provincial sports organization based at the Ontario Sports Centre Sport for Disabled Ontario represents four disabled sports tions the Ontario Blind Sports Association the Ontario Wheelchair Sports Association the Ontario Cerebral Palsy Sports Association and Amputee Sports Association Athletes from these four organizations compete in several regional games throughout the year culminating in the Ontario Games for the Physically Disabled The 1990 Games will tike place July in Etobicoke The Games for the Physically Disabled encourage wider participation in sport They provide a level of competition thai enhances an athletes ability to attain national and
