soon become the leading cause of death in women but it t need to she said Cancer itself is not in the genes said Ms Lamont but the trigger mechanisms are You don in cancer but you inherit certain million to continue to study the possibility of allowing Milton to grow by as many as people by Regional councillors were told by staff last week Although supportive of the con tinuation of the Halton Urban Structure review which was first introduced two years ago coun cillors said their ultimate support for the study will depend on satisfactory provincial funding They t explain what is meant by million funding proposal would not in crease the tax burden on residents The Region s staff is expected to report to council later this month on how much of the 3 million the province is willing to subsidize The information will be part of a comprehensive financial plan outlining future costs of the urban structure review Regional staff told council The 4 3 million would go to engineering and environmental assessment studies for interm ex pansion of the well based service system in Milton and the extension of lakebased servicing to the town Well based service means residents water supply comes from underground water A lake based service means the water supply comes from lake Ontario Studies will also be conducted on where housing will go in Milton The Region s treasurer Joe Rinaldo said in a recent planning and public works committee meeting part of the 3 million would be funded by developers who want to take part Milton s ex pansion But the money would only become available from the developers once they had built their proposed housing projects said Mr If the Region s studies show further development in Milton shouldn happen then the Region would be responsible for covering the costs of the studies the treasurer said Hills Regional Coun Serjeantson supported the continuation of the urban ture review saying growth is in evitable in the Region and the study will
