Lynda Shaw at the Archdekin Funeral Home Bramp ton on April 28 Dearly loved daughter of Carol and stepfather Murray Taylor of Windermere loved sister of Graham grandparents Ed and Audrey Collins all of Huttonville and Grampa Herald Shaw of Brampton Relatives and friends from the Windermere Huttonville and Brampton area and from across the province came to show their respects for Lynda and to be close toner parents and family Comforting words were spoken by a family friend Ray ington and the Rev Earl Cooper both of Fellowship Baptist Church More than 350 people filled the 158seat chapel overflowing to the outside and listened to the service over loudspeakers It just wasn possible to go back to when we dtdn t have to lock our bikes or lock our doors friend Ray said If we re going to find change in the world today we re going to have to change our hearts people have to be willing to let God into their sou Rev Cooper told the mourners they should turn to God for peace and they would it I think of Lynda and happy times the smile the sparkling eyes Lynda was a loving girl She thought of others ahead of herself Groups of young people com each other from the Hut tonville Public School Brampton Centennial Secondary School and Meeting held Community Association meeting was held in Norval School with chairman for the evening Joan Carter and Secretary Ellen Carter An open forum the west side of the village and to ask that the light at the top of the cemetery hill be replaced as it is out of order Churches unite Huttonville and Norval United Church joined Home Church in celebrating their anniver Rev Stephen Fetter led the worship service Guest speaker was the Rev Hugh Reid of Cayuga Pastorial Charge Her sermon was Peace that Divides Special music with Dennis Van Ravens as choir leader was given by the choir Bill along with Bonnie Neely sang the duet part in the choir number In The Need of Prayer During the offering Bill along with his 82 yearold father sang a duet Surely Goodness and Mercy Shall Follow Me Ail the hymns were accompanied by trumpeter Mr Karl Lin and trom bone player Bill Van Ravens A social hour followed the service Western University of London and listened for the comforting words spoken why then Lynda was taken from them so suddenly To help keep the memory of Lynda each mourner was given an evergreen seedling to plant just like the one that shades the grave where Lynda was laid to rest beside her father William Shaw in the Brampton Cemetery Leo a long time fami ly friend asked those assembled to name the tree the Lynda Tree An evergreen is a living memory he said Pallbearers were the brother Graham friend Eric Cameron uncles Glen and Jim Collins and cousins Paul and Mark Collins Banks of flowers under a spruce tree were a fitting tribute to the young life now at peace Wedding bells The marriage of Joan Gardner Offer and John S took place April 28 1990 at 6 at the Wed ding Chapel Brampton A recep tion followed at the
