last week and competed on May 12 and On Friday in the round robin they lost their opening matches to Win and Calgary The Calgary team eventually Gold medalists was very strong and the Selects lost this match in the third game The Selects won their next two matches against Nova Scotia and Grand Prairie to end up 2 and 2 for Fridays play On Saturday morning the Selects met Quebec No I and were in the that the winner of this match would advance to the medal side of the competition and the best the loser could do would be The match of three games took one and threequarter hours the quality of play was excellent and the players were exhausted The Selects lost the first game 12 15 and then came back to win 154 Very tough match and it too them a long time to earn points both teams played good volleyball The team then had to travel to another site request additional warm up time and take on the Ed monton Volleyball Club in quarter final action This match out of 3 took one hour and minutes to play and the Selects won By this point the girls were total exhausted the pressure of the tournament level of play and number of intense games in a short period of time saw them go down to Calgary in the semis 10 415 semis and finals were out of 5 Calgary went on to defeat Sher Quebec for the Gold medal The Selects stopped hitting and playing aggressively lost to Manitoba in the Bronze medal match scores were 15 la and 15 Coach was pleased with the performance of the players and many people at the tournament commented on the level of paly from this Ontario squad National team coach Mike
