ME HERALD August 22 1990 Page 21 Cross country ski team looking for new members The Chinguacousy Nordic Ski team in existence for six years is looking for some new blood to add to their squad before the start of the coming winter season Spence a member of the cross country racing team said the organization is particularly in younger members and up to fill out their junior development program which was started two years ago It s a good way for the younger people to get the training and coaching they need to become bet competitive skiers It for anyone who serious about racing They don have to know how to ski very well to join either Spence said the quality of the team and its coaches is nothing to sneeze at either Members from the club have gone on to represent Canada in international plays on first Q Ball Chris Hall shared first and he too didn t hand out too many tickets to second base Chris had turbo power runn bases once he got going he was hard to stop Dan the Man Cobra played 2nd picking many balls out of the dirt to halt a runner Dan was our special weapon Will he bunt or dnve the Booster Brandon had a couple of nice hits found standing on first like being the King of the Castle Never giving up Booster chased many hits outfield and made great throws in Sneakers John Ingles even shed his curls for the big league this year Half way through the season Josh found hit ting the ball to be easy and running was a breeze with his super sneakers Quicksler Brent McGuire really turned out to be sports model he had few three baggers and doubles and on third base he tagged out most runners who dared to challenge him Andrew Jorgenson had an excellent eye and bat he made pitcher throw him strikes or he took the walk once on base he was gone Andrew also made some nice throws
