Championship title in a round robin tournament at Georgetown District High School With two points being awarded to a team for each win Georgetown scored 12 The other teams competing in the tourna were Milton Erin and Ac ton scoring and respective ly The Enn team improved as the tournament went on barely allowing Georgetown to win their final game The Sands of Time From The Files Of The Halton Hills effect for about a month however there have not ben new employees tested during this month he sa The drug testing using urine samples will not target substances such as aspirin but Mill look for illegal substances or prescription abuse said Mr Adair He said if a refuses to submit to a drug test that person s tionwill not be affected There have been three inter views conducted at the 28a Street D bank this month Mr Adair is not certain how each interviewee reacted to the drug testing policv It depends on the individual he said Some might think of it as an infringement of their rights installation of the War Measures Act Colonel Earl Lince Com manding Officer of the Lome Scots of Georgetown stated that all Lome Scots armouries had been emptied of all weapons mainly small firearms The Georgetown armoury was ordered to be emptied mediately after the War Measures Act was implemented While the armoury was being emptied it was under a 24hour guard to make sure no one would try to break in or hijack the con voy of weapons when it was on it way to an undisclosed site in Toronto where the weapons were being stored Colonel Lince said the Lome Scots were prepared to carry out any orders that might have gone into effect during the War MeasuresAct Years Ago A Georgetown man was charg ed in connection with the theft of six kilograms of gold then valued at 000 from Toronto Interna tional Airport in Mai ton Kenneth Hugh Diamond of Georgetown was charged with theft over and his bail was set at 000 The six kilograms of gold were being transported from Buffalo New York to London England when they disappeared The gold was not discovered missing until two weeks later when a iran and woman were arrested on drug related charges by Metro Toronto Police Five of the six kilograms of gold were found in their posses the sixth was still missing Following an investigation by Metro Police Mr Diamond and Allan Henry Crawford of Toron to were arrested for the Mr Crawford was also for employees of the Board School trustee Pat settled the agreement retroactive to Sept to Sept Pat Hillhouse was the chairperson of the Board Salaries Policy Com The School Board announced the agreement with Elementary School Teachers the Ontario Public Teachers Federation P S T and the Federation of Women Teachers Association of Ontario F T A O at the Board s meeting Consultants coordinators and elementary teachers received a four per cent increase from Sept 1965 to Feb Principals and VicesPrincipals received 3 8 per cent increase for the same time period For the remainder of the year until Sept 1986 Principals and VicePrincipals received a five per cent increase Consultants were given a per cent increase in salary Co ordinators were given a 8 per cent raise and teachers a
