At least some of the residents whose property is next to the Georgetown Market Place plaza walked away satisfied Tuesday after Hills Site Plan Com mittee gave final approval to the expansion of the plaza One resident told committee members the changes made to the design of the expansion have benefited the residents I feel better now added the resident Another resident however wasnt so satisfied When the developer properties of Toronto said a noise study deter mining the effect increased truck traffic in the mall area would have on neighboring residents will not be done the resident responded of the Royal Ascot apartment pom plex on Hall Road are resting easier now The couple along with the other residents living on the seventh floor of the building have been without elevator service for more than two weeks Wednesday Toronto based Northern Elevator Service Limited replaced the computer chip controlling the elevators movement it had removed ap proximately two weeks ago The company took the chip because it hadn t been paid the own to it by the builder of the apart Toronto s Granville Con for originally installing the elevator After several meetings involv Town Mayor Miller the province Toronto Prenor Trust a trust Involved with the apartment complex and Sam Diamond the receiver manager for Royal Ascot Prenor Trust decided to pay the elevator company a certain sum of money to replace the chip Manager of Commercial Mortgages for the trust company reveal the agreed upon amount during an interview Wednesday Prenor Trust is in charge of paying off Granville ding debts associated with the apartment building The debts in volve many building trades and total million and change said Ms She wouldn t reveal the amount of money paid to the elevator company saying it will Georgetown cope with rapidly increasing numbers of needy area families Over the past three weeks we seen more and more families needing food said Laura Ellison coordinator of the Georgetown service I think the increase is due to the economy Love In Christ in the Moun- tainview Baptist Church at Moun- tainview Road and Comsetgate once served 30 families a week Now over 50 families accept can ned
