signings draws closer both Acton Jr Sabres and Georgetown Jr B Raiders are getting their pens ready Sabres coach and general manager Ken Steen announced the addition of two new players to his roster both of them forwards Were getting Bobby Gagnon who played for us last year on right wing and Keith Kerfoot a forward from Guelph Both of them should be playing for us this weekend Gagnon had been playing Tier Ken Steen II hockey in Pembroke earlier this year while Kerfoot comes in from Guelph Sabres play tonight Friday against Grand Valley and Saturday against Alliston both at home Sundays game is in Bradford against the fourth place Bulls Steen said the team will keep its present roster intact and is not likely to release any players until the playoff deadline Raider president and interim general manager Finn said the team is close to signing at least one player before Thurs days game yesterday after press time against Brampton Were looking at signing a not released at press Wednesday after the Christmas break with the volleyball teams al getting off on the right track Tuesday the host teams trend of winning its own midget tourna ment continued when Pasma traded Georgetown hockey talent Rod Pasma a second round draft pick of the Washington Capitals was traded last week to the Kingston from the Cornwall Royals of the Ontano Major Junior Hockey League Pasma and teammate Shawn Caplice were traded to for Joel Sandy centre Nathan LaFayette and a fifth round draft pick Rod Pasma Georgetown went 90 to take the championship Acton and Milton each won their own events earlier m December while Bishop Reding has a chance to do so this coming Tuesday Wednesday junior volleyball team defeated MM Robinson them for first place each with records Seniors also defeated Robin son keeping the third place team back in the standings Seniors are tied with Bishop Reding for first This weekend seniors will be playing in the St Jean DeBrebeuf tournament Other tournament action this weekend features the first wrestl ing tournament of the season be ing hosted by Rebels Saturday The tournament begins at 1000 am and ends at approximately m Midget basketball
