Flamborough Thursday night Star Fuels Ma Atoms hosted a much improv ed squad from Milton and escaped with a tie Michael Crawford opened the scoring for Georgetown halfway through the first period as his long shot from the blue line fooled the Milton Crawford has been a solid per former on defence for five years and this was his first goal in a couple of seasons Two minutes later he ed with David to send Steven Smith in alone on the right side Smith drilled a shot off the far post to give Georgetown a 2 Head Georgetown failed to score in the second period but just seconds into the final frame Smith scored to put Georgetown up 3 2 Assists went to Papadopoulos and Crawford Milton came right back to tie at three but when counted a short handed goal late in the period it looked like the winner Milton refused to quit though and they scored the final goal with just 54 seconds on the clock Saturday Georgetown to Milton for a rematch and came up flat for a defeat An drew scored Georgetown s only goal unassisted Sunday evening the boys were looking to break out of their slump with an evening contest in The team pumped in four unanswered goals in the opening frame and then cruised to an easy win Scott Herbert was solid in the net and recorded a shutout Brown opened the scor ing two minutes into the game unassisted Three minutes later Brown set up Beaven for the game second goal With just under two minutes left in the period Rick Clark and Beavan combined to send Smith in on the right side and he neatly tucked the puck between the netminder s pads Beavan then completed the scoring scoreless until the third period Georgetown s Martin popped in the first goal early in the third period while Streetsville was busy tackling the rest of Georgetown s team With five minutes to go Streetsville tied up the score and with 22 seconds remaining squeezed in the winning goal Wednesday night the minor novices travelled to Burlington for a tie game Burlington scored and Georgetown t seem to get the game together with the home team scoring again early in the second period Georgetown came back and tied up the score with two goals Simon Saulnier got the first assisted by Ryan Inglis and Peter Veltman at 31 Corey Forbes got the other assisted by Ryan and Andrew at l The third period was also close ly played Justin scored a third goal assisted by Greg Bidwell but then Burlington tied up the score Thursday night s game In Milton was another tie game The first period was scoreless as was the middle period until the last second when Milton popped in their goal Georgetown got in their goal with six minutes remaining in the game credited to Ryan and assisted by Matt Walinga Next Saturday the Georgetown minor novices play their last regular season game against Stoney Creek In
