Milton Georgetown Peewee team loses 3 1 to Milton By WENDI GOODHEW Herald Special Coach Brian Markham Mike and Chris Goodhew saw their play one of their strongest games of the season in game two of the playoffs losing against Milton on Jan Milton which won the first game came out fast and hitting hard in the first period and Georgetowns defence toughened up to meet them at the blueline Trevor Crane made some big hits and a couple of rushes this game to keep Milton on their toes Andy Kerslake and Dave were also no easy match on the or in front of their net as both boys played a tough game Milton scored first but the line of Chris Goodhew Davey Wilburn and Chris Corney were hot when a pass from saw slip one by Miltons goalie to tie it up Robbie Pilgrim Mike Wilinga and Keith Hurt just missed a few times made some passes and dug along the boards Milton scored twice again mak ing it for Milton Georgetown kept coming right back up to the last seconds but just couldnt get the bounce of the puck to go their way Goalie John Moon played an outstanding game and came up with some big saves when called on Jeff Beauparlant kept the spirts on the bench high They will meet Milton again Saturday for game three of their best of five series Curling Cooperation MAJOR PEEWEE Bruins split games Major Peewees split their two most recent games with Jan 10 and 13 in a home and away series Streetsville assumed the lead at the mid point of the first period but a pair of Georgetown goals in the last ninety seconds of play gave the local club a 21 lead when the period ended Gary McNeily opened Georgetowns scoring in the first period on a goal assisted by Scott Truman Sixty seconds later Scott Lahey gave Georgetown the lead after receiving a pass from David Kotsos The second period ended in a 33 tie as Georgetown two goals to one dur ing the ten minutes of play Gary again scored Georgetowns goal in the second period assisted by David Kotsos It was the second time in the game that the two had combined in a scoring play In a spirited third period Streetsville scored three unanswered goals to gain a victory The game ended with Georgetown storming the Streetsville net but unable to narrow Streetsvilles margin of victory Just prior to Christmas Bruins met Chinguacousy at the Arena In a well played game the local club managed a 32 victory Neither club managed to score in the first two periods of action but early in the third period Brad Spears gave Georgetown a 10 lead on a goal assisted by Gary McLean and J amie Bottomry Shortly afterwards Scott gave Georgetown a lead Laheys goal was assisted by Wes Burke and Kevin Lumb Georgetown assumed a 30 lead with six minutes remaining when David Kotsos scored on a play set up by David Kalbarski and Kevin Lumb With only
