top runn ing order for Sundays playoff game but lost in overtime and trail the bestof five series Early in the first period Mike Maddlll spun one by the Milton to give Georgetown the boost they needed Richardson ran on all eight cylinders the whole game doing Ryan Booth and Brian Nor more proved once again they belong with the Machines when they hustled and made some good plays Mike Krause was right there in the goalmouth scrambles but couldnt find the key to put one by Miltons goalie Nathan Martin and Jeff Telford hugged the keeping the puck in Milton s end and set some nice road blocks in their own end to send Milton back Joey and Dave Markham sent Miltons forwards home on many plays empty handed with no shots on the net When Milton did break through this pair chas ed them down Goalie Joey Barber was nothing less than awesome stop ping many shots and reboundl His partner goalie Chris Hall gave him the added support he needed to stay tough With seconds left in the game Milton scored to tie it up and force it into overtime The extra minutes tired the players who ran in high gear throughout the game and Milton scored one and then another on an empty net Major Novice Lumbermen tame Lions Georgetown Beaver Lumber AA Major Novice hockey club snatched a victory from the jaws of Orangeville Lions on the road Tuesday staying alive in their best of five playoff series Dan Smith had both goals for the Lumbermen which now trail in the series 21 Roddy Heinz set up Smith for the 1st goal Ryan carter played shutout goal to ice the victory The first period saw Matt Hotham jumped to the attack at the 12 mark only to be turned aside by the Scott Ellis and Brent combined for a solid offensive ef fort Bryan and Joshua Travers solidified the defense with a good effort The period ended Trevor Cash skated hard to break up an threat at the mark of the second period to keep the game scoreless Roddy Heinz with the play of the game took the puck from behind his net skated and stickhandled through to feed a pass to Dan Smith who scored the first Georgetown goal at the mark The third period saw Ryan Matt Hotham Jason Hayes Janice Derrick Elliot and Jason Campbell all contributing to ths winning fort Dan Smith stickhandled down the right side and used Matt as a decoy to his left He then shot the puck instead of passing it off into the net at 16 31 to Ice the game
