musicians Sean Cotton guitar Rob Turn ball bass guitar and Andy Jones drums are all former students of Georgetown High Schocu Four months ago they formed the band and called it Shadows of Laughter after the title of an anthology of poems by Henry Osborne They have been performing at Toronto clubs like the El Mocambo on Spadina Avenue and Spectrum and in the east end ever since Beside a great name Shadows of Laughter has lots of energy and a hard un compromising beat Most of their material is their own and it is pretty impressive The guitar player and lead singer Sean Cotton writes the texts He has a remarkable presence The contrast between his androgynous face and a very voice is mesmerizing When he stands still and sings directly into the microphone his hair shining like a helmet
