tyke house league tournament and came home with the B Hard work by all and terrific goauteening by Andrew ty resulted in two wins and one loss for the B championship The first game saw Cookstown squeak by the Terra Cotta Cookies by one goal scored by Graham Baind and assisted by Michael Busta late In the third period to break a tie and go on to win Marksmen for the Cookies were Kyle Finlay and Chad Fleming The line of Andrew Burns Joel Hamilton and Michael Irwin were on track by keeping the puck in the opponents end most of the game Tyke rivals J V Clothing and Terra Cotta Cookies took to the ice In the semifinal and saw the Cookies edge out J V Clothing Goal scorer for J V was Jason Hunt with two goals assisted by Michel Lefebvre Ryan Bisschop played great in net while Dustin and Robbie also played good on offence and Major Peewee Bruins lead playoffs with opening game win In a closely contested Major Peewee game at Arena on Feb Bodanis Bruins emerged victorious in an exciting over time game with Milton The win gives Bruins game one of the five playoff series Both teams played a scoreless first period At the five minute mark of the second period David Kotsos gave Georgetown a lead on a goal assisted by David and Gary McNeily Milton evened the score 1 before the second period ended Georgetown forged ahead early in the third period when David scored his second goal assisted by Andrew Shortly afterwards Bruins took a lead when Scott Lahey scored a wrap around goal assisted by David Two penalties to Georgetown proved to be costly and Milton was able to tie the score at three apiece Georgetown again assumed the lead when David scored Boere goal was assisted by Kevin Lumb and Scott Lahey However with 20 seconds left on the clock Milton evened the score at four Milton took a lead early in the overtime period only to see Georgetown tie the game on a goal by Brad Spears assisted by David Kalbarski and Fraser Thorn Seven seconds later Kevin took the puck from a face- off pass by David Kotsos and rushed at the Milton net snap shot beat the Milton goaler to give Georgetown a victory Both teams are scheduled to play in Milton on Saturday and Sunoay as they continue the series Terra Cotta Cookies Kyle again displayed hard work and great defence In earn ing three goals while Daniel Wal- notched the other This game it was the line of Jason Joel and 20 in Milton playoff series By BEVERLEY BIGGS Herald Special Georgetown Minor Novices face playoff elimination Thurs day night at Memorial Arena after losing their first two games to Milton last week Last Thursday night at Memorial Arena Georgetown AA minor novices met Milton for the first of a best of five playoff series Old rivalries die hard and this game was no exception In the regular season Georgetown had defeated Milton once and tied three games Thursday night s game was tied period for period right to the end of the third The tension in the arena was high as the final overtime period began After six minutes Milton managed to get a goat The 44 was broken with Miltons fifth goal The local boys played a good team effort with scores by Corey Forbes assisted by Justin Nor more Greg Bidwell on a breakaway Ryan with Peter Veltman and Jamie Reynolds and by Matt Walinga assisted by Ryan On Saturday Georgetown met Milton at their Thompson Arena Again it was a tie game until the third
